Under Eye Lid Surgery

Age & genetic factors are linked to the decline of the supporting fatty pillows under the eye sockets, giving the appearance of "bags" under the eyes. This may cause the person to look & feel older than they actually are. The removal of under eye bags will also eliminate the permanent "tired" look. The duration of the surgery is approximately 60-90 minutes and can be performed under local or general anaesthetic.

- The stitches that are under the lower eye lashes are removed after 5 days.

- Sometimes dissolving stitches are used in which case they will naturally dissolve.

- The patient may experience significant bruising and swelling that will disappear with 10 days after surgery.

- It is recommended that the eyes are protected from the sun using sunglasses for 2 weeks after having lower eye lid surgery.
